Missions
The purpose of the mission program of Jackson First United Methodist Church is to make the amazing love of God known in practical ways locally, nationally, and globally. Specific ways this is done is by:
Maintaining a local benevolent fund to help persons of our community who may experience a need for emergency assistance.
Periodically conducting a food drive for the food distribution program of the Salvation Army.
Selecting a district and conference approved special to support financially.
Contributing to the Visionary Shares program of the conference.
Providing salary assistance to a pastor in the Ecuador United Methodist Church.
Annually supporting a team to travel to some other country to assist and encourage faith communities there, usually with manual labor.
